The GreenGuys are Ed Vinas and Graeme Davidson. We are coffee enthusiasts with a passion for the best coffee we can buy. We started our coffee journey buying roasted beans from multiple sources and working through progressions of equipment and techniques. Every time we made changes, the bar was raised a little more. We quickly realised the critical importance of coffee bean quality and absolute freshness and arrived at the realisation that home roasting was one of the best ways of achieving the quality and consistency we were seeking.

Sourcing quality green coffee beans has its challenges. Coffee retailers tend to be most interested in selling roasted beans. Those selling green beans invariably offer limited ranges and frequently price them very close to roasted beans. Wholesalers have the range and keen prices but will only deal in whole bags weighing from 30kg to 70kg. We wanted top quality, a wide range of choices and the lowest prices so we went with the wholesale option, which meant we had to find other people to share in our purchases.

And that brings us to this site and the GreenGuys operation. We select the coffees we want for our personal consumption and buy bags of each one to lock in price and availability. We publish tasting notes on this site describing the coffees and we offer them for purchase at prices representing the source cost plus our expenses plus shipping costs (if buyers choose this option). When all the green beans have been purchased, we move onto the next offer.

We have a relationship with OzGreens which is a Sydney based group with similar objectives to GreenGuys. Through this relationship we are able to offer the widest range of green beans with the lowest overheads and shipping charges.

The primary objectives of this site is to provide a platform for green bean purchases and an information resource for everything we can find beans on offer and the world of coffee. We do not plan to turn the site into a discussion forum because we think that market is well catered to already. We do however encourage your contributions of links and articles adding value to the site.
